Taking on the industry by sheer faith and force, Mi’chel Rose (formerly known as Barbie Z Blacc) is a force to be reckoned with. Possessing a powerful voice and a definitive sound, she consistently delivers soul-stirring performances that captivate audiences around the world.
Growing up on the Southside of Houston, Texas, raised by her grandparents, Mi’chel began singing in the church’s adult choir at the tender age of 5. Her gifts helped her land a theatre arts scholarship. Using her past as a springboard, she channels memories into melodies that are proud and strong. The Mi’chel Rose sound is smooth, soulful, and powerful.
Being nurtured by Motown legend Cecil Shaw for more than nine years helped Mi’chel cultivate herskill and earn the moniker, “The Queen of Live Entertainment.” Shaw is best known for his work with industry heavyweights such as The Delfonics, The 5th Dimensions, Ray Charles and Gladys Knight. She later teamed up with music producer Anthony Johnson, a Detroit native and CEO of AmjMuzicEnt who has worked with artists such as Ne-Yo, and K-Ci & JoJo.
